About Us

Superior Fencing Academy was founded by Philip Contardo in October of 1996.  Its goal has always been to offer education and training in the art and science of sport fencing to the community in Thunder Bay. Since its conception Superior Fencing Academy has taught the sport of fencing to hundreds of students.

 

Superior Fencing Academy is the first and only fencing club in Northwestern Ontario and follows the Life Long Development from the Canadian Fencing Federation with the goal fostering life long sport participation for youth and adults. Our club seeks to foster comradery, discipline, and physical literacy as part of both the youth and adult programs. Our primary goal first and foremost is to have fun and develop the sport of fencing within Northwestern Ontario.
